Please note - we are located INSIDE The Chiropractic Wellness Studio!
When you book an appointment, this block of time is set aside just for you. Missed appointments prevent other clients who are seeking our services, from accessing these appointment times. A charge equal to 50% of your scheduled service applies to all missed appointments or to appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hours-notice. Please understand that our RMTs only receive payment when services are provided. Missed appointment fees are not covered by any health insurance plan.
Yes! We offer direct billing for many plans. Several insurance companies are recently allowing Massage Therapy providers to bill them directly for our services. These companies include Blue Cross, Sun Life, Canada Life (formerly Great West Life), Standard Life, Manulife, Group Source, Green Shield, Desjardins, Johnson Inc., Industrial Alliance and several Trades.
We also offer direct billing for Motor Vehicle Accidents, RCMP members, Veterans Affairs Canada and Funds Administrative Service (Trades Unions).
Please bring your benefit card with you to your first appointment. For your first visit, please be aware you may be required to pay out of pocket depending on your plan's specifics. Many plans require a prescription from your Medical Doctor to be submitted before they will approve your massage benefits coverage.
Our Massage Boutique in collaboration with our Chiropractic Studio provides treatments for clients who have been involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA). We are able to Direct Bill most insurance companies for the duration of your treatments. Please advise us in advance if you have been involved in a MVA and our team will guide you through the process.
Women can begin massage therapy at any point in their pregnancy – during the first, second, or third trimester. As with any therapeutic approach to achieving wellness during pregnancy, women should discuss their intent to incorporate massage with their prenatal care provider(s). Your personal level of comfort in seeking prenatal massage is an important consideration - each person's health philosophy differs slightly. The best way to address any possible associated risks of prenatal massage is to be well informed and to work collaboratively with your team of prenatal professionals.
Our Registered Massage Therapists at MELT are trained professionals who aim to help you find your maximum comfort during your massage services. We ask that you leave your underwear on but remove all other pieces of clothing (shirt, pants, socks, bra etc.) However, if this level of disrobing is not comfortable for you - please feel free to leave additional clothing items on that you prefer. Before your therapist steps out to allow you to privately disrobe, she/he will provide you with additional guidance and will answer any questions that you may have regarding your level of comfort for your massage.
We most commonly incorporate a multi-purpose high-end massage lotion with a non-greasy, nourishing formula. This lotion is ideal for relaxation and deep tissue services. The non-staining, non-greasy and paraben-free massage lotion is formulated from the finest all-natural ingredients. These ingredients include purified water, grape seed oil, sesame oil, vitamin E, organic arnica Montana extract, organic white willow bark extract, citrus fruit oil and sage oil.
Services offered by our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are generally covered under the Massage portion of your health benefits plan. Be sure that you have submitted all required documentation to your insurance plan (including your written prescription from your MD - if required) in order to receive reimbursement. Individual plans may vary, so we highly recommend you familiarize yourself with your benefits calendar year and your total coverage amount in order to enjoy the coverage with which you have been provided.
